The 75/25 is probably the better choice because it will pop the zoos a little better. The procolor would help bring out some colors in the SPS as far as pink and purple colors but the 75/25 will too, maybe not as fast.

Is the 75/25 par above 300? Do u think 3blue+ is to much would u switch it out for some thing else? Would this look better. Iassume taking out blue+ and adding aquablue would olny make things less blue.
Blue+
aquablue
75/25

75/25 has par between a Super Actinic and Blue Plus.

Adding the aquablue brightens things up.

The Fiji Purple is rated at 330 PAR on Grim's site. Click on the red house on Grim's posts. Almost all questions can be answered there.

I will say that Grim is not a huge fan of the Fiji though.

rtparty, I have seen those used as stand alone lights and supplemental lighting. Here's a cool link I been following on these.

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1384109

Thanks for the link! There is a lot of good things on there about these lights.

I was afraid that 6 T5's would drown them out for the shimmer effect but using them as supplements to my dusk dawn would be awesome!

They look similar. The Fiji has more PAR than the Blue Plus, 75/25 has less,

Okay Grim I have been looking at the Powerbrite LED's and really want them to be part of my tank. I am thinking of building by own fixture out of aluminum. My tank is a standard 90 gallon

My questions are:

How many T5's should I put in? 4 or 6?

How many fans and what size? Who makes the best but quietest fans?

Should the fans be put in the middle of the fixture or on one end like ATI does?

Should the fans suck air in or blow air out?

The LED's will be my supplement for dusk and dawn but I may run some T5's with them. The LED's are the 460nm Blue ones I showed earlier.

What bulb combo? I am thinking some Blue Plus, Aquablue, GE 6500K, Fiji Purple?

Thanks! I know that is a lot of questions!

6 lamps.

All the other questions depend on the design of the fixture. You should come up with a rough design and then deal with the specifics.

Do ATI and constellation fixtures fans push air in or suck air out?

ATI's blow, Constellations suck, except for mine, I flipped the fans so it blows now. seems to work ducky swell.

Hey Grim, quick followup for my future setup

front to back
VHO - UVL Super Actinic
T5 - UVL Aquasun
VHO - UVL Super Actinic
T5 - ATI Blue Plus
VHO - UVL Daylight 10K
VHO - UVL Super Actinic

how about this, upside/downside? I keep only LPS and Softies, maybe might look for some easy SPS down the line, change out the aquasun t5 and have two rows of ATI Blue Plus? then the daylights would be 2 UVL VHO's, then 2 UVL Super Actinics.

VHO - UVL Super Actinic
T5 - ATI Blue Plus
VHO - UVL Daylight 10K
T5 - ATI Blue Plus
VHO - UVL Daylight 10K
VHO - UVL Super Actinic

Is it possible to run a pair of VHO bulbs (UV lighting Super Actinic, I think they're 110 watts?) and a pair of 80 watt T-5 bulbs off of the same Icecap 660 ballast? That would save me some hassle and a few dollars...

one more question...lifespan of the big VHO bulbs? Do they last longer than 6 months without too much shift or loss of PAR? Mine have been run on a PFO ballast

So the ATI blows air in from the top, across the ballast and endcaps and out the vents at one end?
