Will that mix also give me very fast growth?

3 Blue Plus and 1 Aquablue then try a UVL Actinic White and 75/25. Should pop stuff sweet. 75/25 is the only low PAR lamp in the mix

The GE lamp is what was poping the yellow and brightening up the maroon. You could try the Aquasun and the GE with 2 Blue Pluses and see how you like it.

Would there be anything wrong with this combo?

Blue plus
Aquablue
UVL Aquasun
Blue Plus

I just tried it out while I was waiting for a response. It looked pretty good to me. The clown and yellow tang seem to pop much more. It also looks alot brighter. I just want to make sure that spectrum won't harm my RBTA or LPS. The RBTA seemed to retract a bit after a few minutes with this change.

If you could be so kind.....I just received a Current Sundial 4x24w T5 HO fixture today for my 29g. I think the spectrum looks pretty blue and not very bright. Do I need to replace all the bulbs or is there something a little more cost effective I could do to improve the spectrum? It came with (2) 10k and (2) 460nm actinic bulbs.

Thanks for your time, Grim. Your willingness to share knowledge is greatly appreciated.

The Blue and aquablue are two of if not the two highest PAR lamps out there. Should do well.

As long as you like it thats fine. Must be just enough yellow in the Aquablue to hit those colors for you.

I currently have a 54w 4 bulb ficture over a 90 mixed reef. I'm going to add another bulb. Bulbs I have are new, but wanted to know what would be recommended as the 5th. I was thinking another blue plus or aquablue. I've never used an aquablue so I'm not sure. Thanks
Blue Plus
UVL 75.25
Ge 6600k
blue plus

grim... going to order my bulbs... going to order

8 blue plus or UVL 454
6 aquablue
2 fiji purps...

that way I can play around with a couple of combos and see what i like better..

would you order the old stand by blue pluses... or have you heard enough good things about the 454s to try them yet?? which ones for my blues???

As always, THANKS!!!

hey grim, well since i'm still waiting to finish up canopy, so i didn't buy the 4 bulb icecap or tek retro, i been bugging you about yet lol, but i ran across at thse tek ready fit kit, how do these compare to just the regular retro kits? difference i noticed is that, i know the tek II reflectors are 3 inches wide, but on premiumaquatics.com they have the 2 bulb kit at 35.75"L x 4"W x 3.5"H, how is that possible? says it comes with Tek II reflectors also...i don't get it..

Looking for a recommendation for replacement T5s. I have an Outer Orbit fixture with 1-250w halide and 4-24w T5. The 250w halide is a 14k Phoenix. what would be a good setup to go with in the T5s for actinic supplementation? Just 4 ATI Super Blues? Are there other better actinics?

among the ones that give the red, which one has the highest par?

The Fiji Purple and UVL Actinic White. The Actinic White gives the same effect but isn't as harsh.

I think you would be happy with either one. Do you want the tank bluer or brighter?

I would do 2 ATI Blue Plus, 1 UVL 75/25, and one 1 UVL Super Actinic

I am guessing a tossup between UVL Actinic White and the Fiji Purple.

Either would work. For a stronger blue look go for the Blue Plus and Aquablue for a brighter look.

I've been busting down the sump and stuff on the tank. I am burning the lamps in now. I really doubt the UVL lamp is going to be a whole lot different than the ATI so Maybe do a couple of them just for grins and giggles, they may hit a little different spectrum.

The ready fit reflectors aren't as good.

Use the 10K in place of the rear aquablue and swap the position of the pro color with the blue plus just in front of it.
