and its a 6 bulb fixture

6 bulb T5 over a 29? You will be able to keep anything you want in there depending on the fixture.

If it is a lower end fixture run this:

ATI Blue Plus
UVL Actinic White
ATI Blue Plus
GE 6500K
ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus

If it is a mid - high end fixture than go lower PAR.

ATI Blue Plus
UVL Super Actinic
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Pro Color
ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus

I bought a used aquatinics tx5 and have to change all the bulbs out. It's for a brand new 90gal mixed reef 48x18x24t. First off is this even enough light for my tank? And second, could you recomend a good combo for the fixture? I want lots of growth, being that it's new, and vibrant colors. The 2 and 4 bulbs are dusk/dawn while the 1, 3, and 5 are daytime.

You might need to play with the order to get the right duck/dawn combo

Front
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Pro Color
ATI Blue Plus
GE 6500K Daylight
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Pro Color
ATI Blue Plus
GE 6500K Daylight
ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus

I would order extra lamps to play with GE daylight, Blue Plus and maybe even a Fiji Purple. Try to arrange your lamps so the Daylight and Aquablues are on your midday circuit. Try 3 blue Plus and a Pro Color on the first dusk/dawn set.

hey grimm I am running 36" T5's over my 50 gal 4 bulbs overdriven by two IC 430's and I am wanting to get a couple dali ballast and I was wondering if you are familiar with any good dali ballast also is there any way to overdrive the bulbs with a dali ballast like the Icecaps do

Thanks for all the help

Use good bulbs and you will be alright. I would keep high light stuff on the rocks and low light stuff lower down.

ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Aquablue

How white or blue is the UVL 75/25 bulb? I remember using the actinic white in my VHO days and remember most of their bulbs where pinkish.

It's just slightly purple

Be sure your high light critters are under the lamps, other than that you should be fine.

Never heard of them. The only "Good" way to overdrive I know of right now is the Ice Cap ballast.

do you think it would make the colors of the corals pop ?

It sure will. The majority of those bulbs have a lot of actinic in them

I have a 8x54 t5 fixture I got off ebay - not bad quality and it has done ok for me for the past year. I have been considering upgrading my lighting - could I just replace the ballasts with better ones and use my existing fixutre?

I don't know how that would look but I don't want it too blue. Plus I have a blue background if that makes a difference. Will This be fine?

I was suggested
ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Aquablue

Did God ask questions of you how to set up the worlds reefs?

Why would I ask myself questions?

Your major drawback is probably the reflectors or lack there of.
