The Tank Building Begins!!!!

Well I guess with GC you either get it or you don't. I had the greatest experience with them when I ordered my 300. I am very pleased with the quality of the tank. I was treated with nothing but respect on the phone when I called to order the tank as well as when I called to get set up to meet the driver for pick up. I was given the drivers cell number. The route the driver took he even came to Hatch and unloaded the tank at my work into a trailer for me to haul it in.

I guess maybe I was lucky dealing with them.

well lets continue the build then, and deehz thats the same tank i want 48x30x18 i can use all my equipment on that, even a 60" long would work if i hang the light.

steffen so what are the dimensions on this 100, since i see both 16 and 12 inches for height ???

I both tanks should be 72" X 24" X 12", Steffens tank should be a glass thickness taller since he assembled the tank in a different manner than the other tank.

Erik

Erik is correct! It was not to my choosing to assemble it that way i told glass cages to send me the glass cut out for the 100 gallon wide and that is what they sent me. Why did they do it different? Who knows?

I am assembling the stand right now and waiting on the bottom Euro brace cuts as well. The tank should be up and running in about two weeks. I will be leaving to LA this Saturday for a full week! So it will have to wait tell then. :) Thanks

Sorry for the small and crappy pics!!! More to come though...

LOL i am obsessed with drilling every tank! I think it is pointless to have failing HOB (hang on back) overflows. I also believe every saltwater tank should have a refuge with a good amount of algae. I just like doing things right the first time! :)

Steffen Sparks

Yeah and i hated it!!!! And i have had them fail too. I also left one of them up and running to show people that did not understand what they do or how they worked. Actually i just like rubbing it into Pedro face! lol Its fun teasing him! Hahaha

Erik have you had any issues with the aqua lifter? Have you cleaned it out yet? Or ran vinagear through it? Has it slowed down at all? Thanks

Steffen Sparks

The tubbing in the aqualifter started clogging so I just replaced the tubbing. Its sucks knowing that if you dont keep an eye out on the HOB overflow is can fail. Next tank I get, I will have drilled.

Pedro, why would you still do H.O.B. if you are going to set up a new system? I am not saying there is anything wrong with it but just curious.

because i spent alot of my new tank money on a mp60, and my skimmer will work great on it. im saving money by not buying a new skimmer and sump.

it will just be my tank for the next year or 2. anything bigger will definately need a bigger skimmer and more bells and whistles. but for now will be just fine with the equipment i already have. :D
