The Time has come - listen2bob's 80 gallon build

Looks great. If I had anything to critique it would be that dang light cord. Perhaps you could get the clear lamp wire typically used for chandeliers and intertwine it through the chain holding the fixture. This will really blend it in and make it almost unnoticeable. Then just create a small access panel to plug it in with the outlet inside the box.

Stupid question is that still your 2) 150 watt hqi metal halides and what bulbs are they .,

Still the 2 150 hqi, Phoenix bulbs. It's less blue in reality

They look awesome and I still get the urge to go metal halide again.....especially when I see the awesome growth you have had ....and can't wait to see this new setup once established.. Nice job again

Nicely done buddy!! Now you have a few more spots to fill in with new pieces. Make sure to snap plenty of pics for a progression thread.

It has been a slow process getting everything balanced again. Not having a sandbed isn't helping. Algae has been fierce. Lost my colonies of blue Millie and all my encrusting montis. Slowly getting better

Growth and color on the rebound.

Considering putting in a sand bed. Anybody have experience adding one after the fact? I assume add slowly
