The Time Is Finally Here...

I hate it for him but your right Paul....it looks like the same ole' Crompton, as much as I wanted to believe he had turned the corner:(

The defense played good....186 yards of offense for UCLA and 6 fumbles...... but we only got 1.

I'm back to hoping for a bowl game.

Chris

Yeah, we have a defense and running backs (regardless of that failed 3rd and goal and 4th and goal attempts). we can get a bowl game. I hope that we compete next week. If we put the ball on the ground and can't complete passes, we won't be eating Gator.

You may compete but you realistically don't have a shot. I would say you don't have a shot if Tebow goes out in the 1st play. I am kind of amazed Kiffin made the comment he did preseason. I would be saying this even if you guys had beaten UCLA. Crompton looked like last year whats up?

well im not going to try and rub it in to much:p ... but your boys better eat their Wheaties for next week.. if the gators keep playing like that have been it will be nat.champ #4.. i know they have not played any one yet. but they still look good on both sides of the ball

:(

It was an exciting game to be at... Wish we ended up on the other side of victory... The student section was supporting Crompton till the end, which I was surprised about... He had a couple of dropped passes that were on the money... But most of his interceptions were just bad reads/throws, unless you guys saw something in the replay that I missed live... I'm not sure we'll stay competitive vs FL... Not unless we don't have to count on Crompton... I was pretty surprised UT threw it as much as they did... Oh well...

Agreed for the most part. There were some Crompton boos in the 3rd quarter. I think Kiffin and the staff see something that we don't in order to call that many passing plays.

Well there were boos after the interceptions, but that is to be expected, especially after the 2nd or 3rd... But for that final drive after the safety, the crowd was cheering him on "Lets go Crompton"...

I think he just freaks out and throws when he is under pressure...

Me too. We've got some studs at running back. When the new coaches said Crompton "looks great in practice," I thought to myself, "gee, I heard that last year," and figured we'd be hurting again this year. Stephanie called it though; after last week's game I said that maybe Crompton was over the hump. She said, no way, he's still the same guy, wait until next week. Boy was she right.

That article about summed it up...

"When they say this is hallowed ground, it's obvious,'' said Neuheisel. "It's really a privilege to play in an environment such as this and our kids took it as such.''

Maybe the Vols didn't. Something was missing.

Their only touchdown was a Bruin gift. Prince fumbled when sacked by Willie Bohannon in the first quarter. UT recovered at the UCLA and Hardesty scored on the first snap.

I think Kiffin will learn from this game... At least it wasn't an SEC match up... Hopefully now he will lean more on our RB's... Right now, I don't care if I ever see Crompton throw another pass... I hope he can change my mind, and its essential that he does so, but I'm pretty disgusted....

Um, we'll need to be eating HGH, testosterone, androstenediol and find a quarterback to have a chance:rolleyes:

........or if Tebow decides to sit on the bench and eat bon bons along with the starting defense:)

I thought the same thing.......I even read the article this week about him meeting with Wyche and thought "maybe he is fixed". The guy has it everywhere exept upstairs when it comes to handling pressure on the field. He's a TN guy and he works as hard as anyone. I don't have anything against him but yesterday sure seemed like the same Crompton we saw last year. I'm guessing he hates this more than anyone else does but I just don't see how he ever turns the page.

We did get three nice commits today, 2 real nice defensive ends. Unfortunately I think it's going to take a while to get things turned around.

Just saw Chad Clifton on TV......those were the good old days:)

Edit: Cutler is looking like Crompton right now.

No doubt!!! Ash was excited that the Bears finally had a quarterback... Oh well... He can't get any worse... ;) Oh, but the Bears defense looks good... They got a safety just like UT... :D

.....and a safety with teeth falling out of the quarterback gets extra credit:)

I think the Bears do have a quarterback.....he's just having a rough night.

About the teeth. Was the guy wearing a mouth piece?? What kind of idiot plays without a mouth piece? I'm still rooting for crompton and hoping and praying he turns it around. We must have faith till the bitter end. However if I were couch there would be more hand offs and laterals to the RB's until Crompton starts to show that he can handle the pressure.

Not sure if he was wearing a mouthpiece or not. Lots of quarterbacks don't put their mouthpieces in.......I think that's a bad idea too:)
I read yesterday that his jaw was broken and he has to have it wired shut for 4 weeks......I hate that for anybody:(
