The word 'Japanese' in a coral description

QUOTE]Should I buy the Japanese Acan Maxima on CQuarium for $135 or should I buy the same Japanese Acan Maxima on Ebay for $699...and neither is a Maxima?[/QUOTE]

That's really funny: one of them is Symphyllia and the other is Acanthastrea maxima .

I am proud to say:
Cquarium is a leader in selling high end and one of a kind corals for the last 10 years on the web. I am not perfect, however, I don't deceive or try to scam customers. I don't have an agenda to facilitate or solicit to members of RC which represent less than 5% of Cquarium's sales. I strive to satisfy everyone but sometimes I fail and that's a fact of life. It's time to move on and I will not be submitting to this thread any more.

Again, if you have a question, feel free to contact me directly.

Happy reefing,
Adam

I had some rather negative experiences with Cquarium back 5-6 years ago and have never really felt the trust since then. I found this quote interesting though, mostly the part about RC members being only 5% of his business, I feel that RC and other folks on other boards are the most informed reefers out there...hmmmm, so he targets folks who don't know better???

which one is symphyllia? they are both listed as Acan maxima

lets just face it adam is a scammer and won't post here anymore because he has no clue and can not get any of us to think for one sec. that he runs a good honest business..i looked through alot of his pics last night and most are all photo shopped..i have a photo shopped and i know what it looks like when that is done...people like this just make me sick

The detective side of me wonders two things

1) Pictures
Regarding the "Maxima" listed in his store and the ebay store.
I have no connection with his Ebay operation except the pictures.
if the pictures are shared wouldn't both corals be the same thing?

2)Which is the Symphyllia?
That's really funny: one of them is Symphyllia and the other is Acanthastrea maxima .

Doesn't the first link of the ones listed in the earlier post closely resemble the third picture in the above link, just my opinion. However whether maxima or symphyllia, it's nice looking.

Yep...it just doesn't add up. So, CQuarium...you can laugh all you'd like, but the bottom line still stays the same...your attempting to scam, and this thread is trying to protect people from your games!

Here is a copy and paste from the EBay listing...

SANTA IS STILL IN THE BUILDING UNLOADING !!

AND YOU THOUGHT YOU HAVE SEEN IT ALL !!

BE THE FIRST TO HAVE THIS ONCE IN A LIFETIME CORAL !!

And now a copy and paste from the CQuarium website...

SANTA IS STILL IN THE BUILDING UNLOADING !!

AND YOU THOUGHT YOU HAVE SEEN IT ALL !!

BE THE FIRST TO HAVE THIS ONCE IN A LIFETIME CORAL !!

On both sites the font used and the color of the letter is exact as well...the 2 of you are doing more than sharing pictures. keep in mind I just copied and pasted the first couple lines...in both the whole listing is the same!

"Yep...it just doesn't add up. So, CQuarium...you can laugh all you'd like, but the bottom line still stays the same...your attempting to scam, and this thread is trying to protect people from your games!"

OHHH FOR GOD'S SAKE !! This is soooo funny  .

1. Yes, Ray is allowed to use my pictures in his listing and if he uses the same font or the description it becomes a scam... :D .

2. The link (http://shop.1asecure.com/prod.cfm?ProdID=270093&StID=2750):
The Micromussa doesn't have even a price on it ($0.00) and when the add to cart button is used the following is listed:

Select Shipping Below [ By Order Amount Range] $135.00 (incorrect).

And the price for the Micromussa is still $0.00.

To all the members who have been calling me a scamer:

This has been a free advertisment for my website which is not my intention at all . Obviously some good RC members can see right through these accusations and I got few orders from them. I appreciate your continued help, the good and the bad.

I tried to get out BUT they kept pulling me back in (Godfather III).

Beside, what difference does it make if I or Ray OR even ANGELINA JOLINE listed the same items on Ebay ...That's a scam also . I am sorry to disappoint you guys but I am not Ray... I am BRAD PIT .. SERIOUSLY :p .

Red hammer I would love to see that post a pic vest0830

I know this is a little off-topic, but here is my hammer when I first dropped it into the tank. After feeding the hell out of it, its growing daily. This was about 3 weeks ago...maybe a little longer...

Also, it has been said by Japaneese people, books, and various websites that Hammers arent found in Japaneese waters. Ive proved that wrong a few times as well. It was WAY deep, about 30ft at low tide in a crevis, HUGE peice of hammer....about the size of a couch or so. Very nice peice of Hammer coral.

This is the one im refering to above. Like I said, its about half the size of a football, or about he size of one of those smaller platic footballs that you can get at walmart or wherever....

its in the front right corner of the tank

Advertising a coral as "Japanese" when it does not come from Japan is DISHONEST and DECEITFUL; plain and simple. It just adds to the sickening ignorance and confusion that permeates through this hobby.

It really looks to me like Adam and Ray are business associates from the same town and one runs the ebay store while the other runs the web site. The way Adam words things like "Ray is allowed to use my pictures in his listing", instead of just saying "Ray is a business associate" or "Ray is a business partner" or "Ray works for me" makes it seem like there is something more.

The obvious contradiction in this statement doesn't help:

Hi guys, This thread was brough to my attention and I feel the need to explain: Ray needs to stay occupied due to special circumstances and he asked me to use my pictures and products to sell on Ebay. I have no connection with his Ebay operation except the pictures.
......Adam
It is said that Ray asked to use the pictures AND products. Then, it is said in the very next sentence that there is no connection other than the pictures. The question that arises directly from this is: Where does Ray get his products from then to match the pictures? Being that Ray and Adam are conveniently located in the same town, I would guess that the products come from the same place that the pictures do.
There are only two possible explanations here:
Either
1. Adam is lying about the "no connection except pictures".
or
2. Ray is selling a different coral other than what is shown in the pictures in his auction ads, and Adam doesn't mind that he uses the pictures and text to do it.

If #1 is true, then he also wouldn't have a problem with advertising a NON-Japanese coral as "Japanese", which is dishonest and deceitful. I look at it as a "Scam".
If #2 is true, then I would definitely look at as a "Scam"; especially when the corals sell for $500 or $600+ dollars.

You choose.
Buyer beware!

Ecorals (Ray, though at the moment I'm not convinced that Ray exists or that Ecorals and cquarium are not one in the same - my opinion only, I'm not making any claims as to whether I know or care who is whom) refused any sort of discussion through paypal and has escalated the situation to a claim, to be settled by paypal itself. Soon after this occurred, I received this email from ecorals. I hope you don't mind, I darkened the email and made it more purple.

Not only are the corals the same, the guarantee's are the same. You're diging that hole you've made for yourself deeper and deeper.

 Well if Ray (ecoralz) can use pictures and descriptions from cquarium why not the guarantee?? You know he is going to say that

I was trying to pull back away from this post as it just makes me sad and angry to deal with Vendors like this BUT did I read that right Ryansholl? is he threatening to file a fraudulent claim with a collection agency to destroy your credit? because you are attempting a refund through PayPal?

You read correctly doctor, though I did not attempt the refund. He escalated it to a claim himself, then threatened me hoping to scare me enough to cancel all of the paypal proceedings.

My entire case with paypal is that the photos are photoshopped. If he hadn't photoshopped them, would he be worried enough about losing through paypal to send me threatening emails?
