The_Rider - Zen Garden (~250g system)

hehe I wanna take a lot of pics but I didn't receive anything yet. With miracles on vacation until monday, my stand could not be starded nor my sump since we had some last minute check up to do and everyone seems to be in vacation but my stand will be started monday and my sump is almost ready eveything is cut but we need to talk about the position of the center column for the stand which is now done so in about a week I will flood this thread with picture :P

I also pickup a deltec ap-851 replica. which used a Eheim 1262 instead of a 1260 and was pulling 1200l/h of air. I couldn't wait so I plugged it in for a test on my setup and cannot wait to go home and check the skimmate .... (Not an addict) lol

After 15 min of plugged in, it was already foaming nicely and really "rich" !?! foam compare to my old skimmer so I full of hope for this one. My old skimmer wasn't bad and pretty nice for the price actually but this one is a monster :)

Thanks for following my pictureless thread lol

Starting tomorrow, join Beary and his new sump. He will take you around and show all the new features of his sump.

To be continued (when all the mess is clean and it doesn't reflect on the sump, betraying my super clean basement lol)

So here continues the story of Beary

Here, he's posing next to the probe holder and ATO, the bigger hold is for all the electrical outlet

Here some close-up shot of the different components

Next to the probe holder, you can see the heater holder. Raising it to make water go all around it. It should heat faster

Here's are the balling return and the 2 media reactor return

Here's the bevelled piece (!?!) not sur if it's right, I use babelfish, if anyone could help me with it, in french is "vitre biseauté"

That's all for the sump :)

I will receive my stand next week so after that I should updates regularly with new pictures :D

Thank you for taking the time to read my post :)

Very nice but what's with the 'Teddy Bear' lol??

Shouldn't a mermaid be a better choice to tell the 'Sump tank' story? jk

LOVE IT!

That's one of the sexiest looking sumps I've seen, great design

Don't hate on the "teddy tour" Ed!

Yes, those are "bevelled" edges ;)

Thanks Ed :)

I wanted a mermaid but she wasn't to please about the heater holder placement lol Seriously, I was taking picture but my mess kept reflecting on the side so I pick up a couple of random stuff then try to limit the reflection ... Didn't work so I got the great idea, why not put the bear inside then snap a pic. I liked it, so this is where the teddy bear thing came from :P lol

I cannot take any props for the design except for the balling return section lol Marinetech did all the work for the design :P

I don't remember if I told the dimension but they are 48x24x16 and I love how it looks, cannot wait for my tank to come in, it's the same proportion but BIGGER lol

Good thing you got the teddy bear handy

But jokes aside, that's one sexy sump you got there man.... :D

Thanks Rickyrooz1 and Ed

Rickyrooz1 : My aquaspace will be open and I intend to leave around 6" from each panel which leave only 18" to really cover with my SunPower which should be all right hopefully :D

Ed : Thanks for the sump but I have no credit for the design at all :P

BIG NEWS !!!

My tank is nearly ready, they only have to install my acrylic sheet with the teeth for the overflow :D and it will be ready to ship, it's only a 6 hours drive so it should be here soon soon :)

I really like your tank size, I like the wider depth compaired to the tank that is right behind yours. I think when I get my new tank it will be the same size as yours, maybe just a tad taller.

thanks strout :)

I didn't notice the tank behind mine until you told me lol

Look at the TOTM, it's the same size as mine except it's 24" tall, maybe that what you had in mind :)

Nice build

Nice build

Following along to see how this develops... I love your sump...it is very well planned.

Thank you Lightsluvr and epleeds

I went to pick up my stand yesterday, 60x30x38, it was barely fitting in my cousin's truck, hopefully she was king enough to let me borrow her car for 2 weeks for aquarium purposes :P

On my way home, I remember that I never verified if my door was at least 30" wide. I didn't think about the stand, for my tank I will lay it on the side to go tru the door but didn't think about my stand .... I was stressed on the way home !!!

Finally my door is 33" wide .... FIOU, imagine I would have gone with a 36" wide tank :S lol

Still need to clean up my basement, should be ready to take picture on saturday or sunday :D

WOW, tank looks awesome!!!

Good thing the stand fit! I almost had the same problem when I had my big tank and actually had to remove the door molding then replace it... don't tell my landlord ;)

Thanks Stunreefer :)

The tank is complete but I don't have a shipping date yet since my tank will hitchhike on the delivery truck for montreal :P it should be soon :)

Other than that, I'm currently varnishing my plywood ebony color for protection and I just pickup a new heater ... 1000W :P

Hopefully, I will have my tank soon and can begin my plumbing :D

My tank arrive this morning 9am :D woot woot !!!!

Here a picture of it on the stand, the sump is already underneath and I already have a couple of plumbing that I had went I bought a package deal for my current tank so I can begin to play with the plumbing soon :D

Here's my frag tank, it still need to be drilled and install an overflow that would probably be offcenter by a 1/3. It will be install to the left of my tank, and I will put a confy chair to read and do my papers/report etc. The frag is 24x24x12. I really like the dimension, cannot wait to aquaspace it. also pick up a couple of base rock and already prepare my aquaspace :P

DSC_0007.jpg

And here's my reservor. I need a tall tank to fit it under my frag tank stand. I still need to construct the frag tank stand probably this week-end. Should take long to build the structure and after that I will need to put the panel on.
