Temporary lighting is finished

Temporary lighting is finished

I added a temporary canopy yesterday. Today I finished wiring the ballasts and the 2 remaining Lumenarc's. There are now a total of 4 L3's each with 400w Helios 20k bulbs. Here are a few pictures.

If you don't wedge them in or back them up tight against something, they take off when they kick on. The one in the fron is wedged in a crevice.

With the exception of the 2 6200's I have against the back of the tank (aimed forward) all of the other Tunze's are temporary until I finish the rock work. Then I'll see about hiding them better.

Ted

Sweet! Are you happy you went with such large LR? Or does it make it difficult to aquascape? I was thinking of picking up a few really large pieces but it worries me that they'll be cumbersome and hard to work with. It would b really cool to stick with the pillar look, I'm sure the fish would love it.

More fish and 1 frag!

More fish and 1 frag!

Hey all,

I added some fish and 1 frag to my system this evening. Forgive the picture quality. Bad photographer + lame camera = barely acceptable photos.

Changed the rock work

Changed the rock work

Dave B and I spent a couple of hours redoing the rockwork and hiding some Tunze's. I added a huge tabling base rock (like 32" around) to the tank and re-did all of the islands and walls. It now has the channels I originally wanted. When the water clears and when I have a second, I'll post some pictures.

I hope Ted doesnt mind if I answer for him (I believe hes out of town or packing his bags to get out of town) right now hes going bare bottom due to the extravagent flow of the tank. He said that if he just cant deal with the asthetics of the bare bottom, then he'll add a little sand.

Sticking with BB for now. I have a 120g refugium with 180 pounds of aragonite and about 100 pounds of LR. Going BB in the tank because of all of the flow. I will add rubble and zoo rocks to cover the bottom.

Lunchbucket

Thanks Lunch. Been kind of busy lately. I finally found time to take a few pictures of the tank after the rock move.
