Woo hoo, can't wait to see more pics.

Well, another update... sort of.....
Added the Skimmer! working well already.
Added one of the 4 MP40 QD's.... you might ask why only one..... well, I will tell you.... I had to extend the line between the dry side and the controller... So I cut, soldered, and extended it by 6 feet... All of the controller's will be on the right side of the equipment closet above the smaller Apex control board.

Once I got it installed, I realized that I had a bad EB832 on that control board.... You know, the lights are on, but no power at the 8 outlets... There was a guy on here that fixes these if you send to him... anyone know who that guy is????

Anyway, here are a couple of pics to look at...

Keep in mind, I have not cleaned the back glass yet... going to do that this week... for this reason, the tank shows like it has a blue background.... it is black!

Looks great Randy.

Here's the link to the electronics repair guy that's been mentioned in other threads on here.

After all of this build up and anticipation, you’d better not start with a pair of blue damsels.🤣
Awe come on. Don’t hate on the damsels. Besides we all know it’s going to be Blue/Green Reef Chromis 🤣

Either way, it’ll be a great build regardless of the fish :)

Griss, Thankyou. I will get this setup asap.. I want to make sure I get this repaired, because my old 180 is going in the garage as a freshwater display.... I will probably do a build on that one as well!
Great update!
Thanks reefing 102!

I always wanted a tank full of the electric blue Damsels.... 50 oughta do it!!!!!
Randy I can also repair. I did my own as well and happen to have an extra power supply replacement. Send it to me and I'll fix it for free.
I think I am going to take you up on this... I will send it to you and I will also return your other Apex that you graciously allowed me to borrow!

Blue for me all the way... no wait.... dominoes... i am going with dominoes!

All kidding aside:
My red sea Des Jardin is almost 15 years old! He is absolutely perfect.
My Emporer Angel is almost completely done turning. I got him about a year ago as a sub adult. He gets along pretty good with the red sea tang.
I have a coral beauty and a flame (been together over 8 years)
I have 2 stubby clowns.

What I would like to add:
1 more angel that would work with my emporer.
3 wrasses (coris, potters, leapord, and Laboute) I know... that is 4, but, 3 out of those 4 would be my choice
3 Lyre tail anthias... Cause I like them
2 chalk basslets

This would make a lot of nice motion in the tank and also a lot of nice colors!

Such a clean build. That piping is professionally done.

I hid all my wiring behind those conduit raceways as well.

You got the skimmer in and 1 powerhead. Time to send in the fishes!

Jimbo,
Thanks for the compliment.
I really like having the wiring hidden. Once the lid of the raceway is on, it really makes it nice from a visual standpoint.
Goal is this Sunday to move some Fish!

Well, I didn't move fish this weekend.

I got hung up in extending the wires on 2 MP40QD's and installing all 4 of them on the tank.

I still need to install the Carbon / GFO reactor and the Calcium reactor...

Then I need to make some sort of cabinet or shelf system for the left end of the tank... to store test kits cleanup etc...

Here are a couple of pics of the control room with the MP40 drivers. I still have to cleanup the driver wires on the left side by the red pipe.

Oh wow very nice. Another build I missed. Super neat and organized.

ok, a small update... been letting the tank go through the cycle. Nearly complete... Ammonia finally is almost 0.

This week I would like to add the following:
- 3 pH probes
- Salinity Probe
- Carbon GFO reactor
- Kalkwasser in the ATO system

I have added 3 wrasses.. (New ones)
I moved my 4, almost baseball sized Turbo snails... (Had these for almost 10 years now)
Moved 1 of my brittle stars - The oldest one... about 8 years with me.... huge....

This week I will add 2 more brittle stars and try to catch some of my fish from the holding tank.

Just and FYI, from what I've read, the Apex salinity probes can be inaccurate.

Agree, but it's still useful to see salinity trend overtime. I never trust it's actual value and always
double check with a TM hydrometer to make adjustments.

I went to calibrate this and it said you have to use a chemical I have never heard of... it also said it is best to not calibrate it. The funny thing is it is reading 21.6... 21.6 what??? PPT? Not sure... I just know that number is way wrong if it is PPT.... with my hydrometer, I am getting 35PPT....

Does anyone have any experience with calibrating the salinity probe?

On a lighter side, I am waiting for 2 parts to be able to install my Carbon / GFO reactor.... I need one 1/2 NPT thread to 3/8" john Guest fitting to come out of the reactor... I changed everything to 3/8" on this one because I wanted to use the red 3/8" pipe.... Will post pics once that is installed...

Then, the last real item I need is to install my calcium reactor....

Getting close....
