They're all dead!!!

Well guys, all my cuttlefish that I ordered today arrived dead. They originally ordered 13 from a place in California, who got them from overseas. Well, only 3 made it to California alive, and none made it to here(Dallas, Texas) alive. The guy told me that the bags they were in were filled with a milky white substance. Does anyone know how to ship these guys properly? Does anyone know Richard Stride's telephone number? I just wrote him an e-mail to see if he can ship this shop some cuttles or if he can help the California places with their shipping technique. Well, I am a little disappointed, but I still want to get ahold of these guys!

Thanks,

Mike

Sorry to hear that Mike. I know Richard will not have any cuttles available till late spring or summer. Your better off asking ceph list for shipping help.

I am very sorry to hear of your cuttles. They are notorious for that. Richard specialises in cuttlefish and he knows exactly what he is doing. You should have much better luck with him.
the milky white stuff will be off the cuttles bodies they seem to disintegrate once they die.
once again sorry

I'm going to try a few other places in town that said they could get them in. I mentioned Quality Marine wholesale out of California to all the stores here, and they don't seem to like them very much. I find this odd since they told me they could get them and that they have shipped them before. I guess I will see what happens. If I can't get ahold of any from anyone local I will try Richard again come May.

I would recomend you try keeping another octopus first. Then if your results are good, You can go on from there.Cuttles acan be harder than octopuses.
