Thin Tang - Medication?

We have had a Smaller Yellow Eye Kole Tang in one of our classroom tanks for a few weeks, under observation to be added to our 150g mixed reef.

He seems interested in food (pellets and mysis) but doesn't consume much of it. He also has green seaweed on a clip that I haven't personally seen him touch.

He has become thinner and thinner over the last couple of weeks. I've read that his is possible internal parasites. Any opinions and if so, does anyone have appropriate medication to try treatment?

Did you try garlic drops on food/seaweed to get him to eat?

I would start prazipro asap and go from there.

I haven't tried garlic, but some of my flake food has garlic already. I can try it on the seaweed or mysis.

PraziPro is the fluke medicine?

My Kole wouldn't eat seaweed off the clip at first. I attached green seaweed to a small piece of dry rock with rubberband and he started to pick at that. Also, he loves spiruluna enriched brine. Prazipro is great, but can decrease appetite. I have better luck with metro for internal parasites.

You can find food that has medication in it specifically for internal parasites.

I think Justin said he got some NLS pellets meant to help with parasites. They have a cpl new foods out that are supposed to be medicated.

I actually found recently a great combination that had my fish great, actually more colorful, better appetite, fat, and sickness free! It fits involve mixing and re-freezing the food, but it's worth it so far..

I mix reef frenzy, blood worms, kz immu stabil fish, seachem garlic guard, and seachem metroplex. I just mixed it all up, and re f froze it. Breaking off pieces to feed them.

I had used the Zuct stabil fish before and I knew they would eat that, but I tried the spectrum pellets with medicine to no avail(they wouldn't eat it unfortunately). But my lfs guy advised me that he used the metro on his animals and they eat it readily,I was both interested and honestly didn't believe.

But I mixed up the concoction and was shocked they actually extremely aggressively ate it and have been for a good month straight. So just another option for you..
