Think I had RTN

Yesterday I noticed that the polyps on my RasberryLimeade Acro where not out didnt think much of it, everything looked fine this morning and this afternoon it looked fine as well.So this evening I went into my fish room and noticed that that one third of my Acro was gone from the base up (was a little mad) then went back in and hour and it was already halfway up the frag so i took action and cut off the part that was decaying off and made a new frag. The RTN is the only thing i can think of that would cause it to do this that fast.
Im running 2 250W MH with 2 90W VHOS atanic lighting.

Parameters.
calcium-480
salinity-35 ppt
phosphates-0.05
nitrates- 10 i know a little high
alk-10
mag-1200
K-420ppm
PH-8.3

Thanks for any input.

That would be a classic case of RTN, bummer! :uhoh2: I had that happen a few days ago with a frag, yet the rest of the tank is OK.

Definitely RTN. Acquire another type of Alkalinity test and try to confirm that you're Dkh is indeed 10.

ya thats what i figured everything else looks great and happy it was starting to cover the plug then poof gone. looks like im going coral shopping today lol.
thanks for the help guys.

You guys realize that RTN describes a symptom not a cause right? Almost any stressful condition can induce RTN in a coral.

Understood, I got the impression op. wanted to know why his frag went white in such a short period if time. The cause is undoubtably stress of some kind :uhoh2:

me too so after much searching figured it our my refractometer was off and after my water change it was at 1.029 so got home as fast as i could recalibrated my meter and got my water back to 1.026 so everything is looking much better and i am really glad thats all that i lost.
