Think I have a baby Mantis Shrimp

I was moving the rocks around in my nano cube today and a thing that was clear and almost a inch came out of a rock. It looking exactly like a Mantis shrimp. It was clear and had antenna looking things *Possibly the dagger like things they use to kill prey?*. It also had a bunch of little legs on its side just like a mantis shrimp. The head resembled that of a mantis also. And the tail I think also, wasnt really checking out the tail.I couldnt check it out long do to it went back in the fuji rock. If some of you could post pics of baby mantis shrimps it would help to clarify this.

I think so... Would have to somehow try to get him to come out of the rock again to be sure. Also he was really hard to see due to the fact that he was almost 1 inch from tail to head. It was hard to see details due to this. Anyway to lur him out? He originally came out when I was moving the rocks, guess he wanted to check out what was going on. He was about the same color as the one you posted except he didnt have the brown spots.

there are a few traps that you can use to catch him if you want. Try cutting a water bottle's top off, invert it, and put it back in the bottle. Then place some food in the bottle, the mantis should go in, and have a hard time coming out.

The only problem with that is there is already a bunch of stuff for it to eat due to the fact that I moved the rocks around and there are some of those little worm things that are dead from me movig the rocks around. It will eat those correct?

im not sure if they're scavangers, i think they prefer to eat moving (generally live, you can fake it sometimes) food. Try it, see if it works, if not a FW bath is supposed to work well too
