Think twice before getting clownfish!

I have a pair or oct and all the every went after in a 3 foot 57 gallon tank is the food Well the smaller of the 2 used to chase the baby hippo when I got it. It was smaller than a quarter. But after a 2 months that stopped once the hippo grew. But they also have a rock with gbta to call home. Mostly stay in the bottom right corner

A mated pair of MANY things can turn into a real problem. The only mated pair I've ever kept that was problem free was a watchman pair.

It is clownfish being clownfish. They are in the damsel family. It is what they do. Not worth a death sentence IMO. I would recommend selling them or returning them to the store rather than killing them.

Okay guys - here is an update:

I am giving these two clowns one last chance, since they seem know better than to mess with the other eight fish (particularly my Tang and my Butterfly) I have left.
Yesterday afternoon after work I went of my LFS and ordered and put a deposit on a Red Tip Bubble anemone.
Should be in by the end of the week. Maybe these two hellions will take to the anemone and will be distracted enough to leave my tenth (and final) fish in the future ALONE; which I will not be adding for at least a couple more months. I'll have to quarantine this anemone for a while anyway before I introduce it into my display tank.
Now if THIS doesn't work, OUT THEY GO!
I'm still reeling from this because I've had these ORIGINAL nine fish for two and a half to three years now, they're doing great with no health or compatability problems! :sad2:

Thanks all for replying; I'll keep everyone posted as things develop!

Thanks for the inupt, everyone!
Yeah - looks like these two are gonna get an introduction to the Tidy Bowl Man soon.
I WON'T stand for paying big dollars for a FINAL TENTH fish only to have the poor thing bullied to death.
I might go with a couple of Cardinals and then add one more fish after that in the future, (perhaps another Pearl Jawfish) and that will be IT for fish. I DON'T want to overstock!

I'd offer to take them. I have a 180 reef with only two mandarins in it and a few black mollies, but you're so far away. :(

If you keep just one clownfish thats juvenile and it will remain male than that will not be soo agresive.I would keep the small male ocelaris and would find a new home for the female(the bigger one). The females are the most agresive. Also ocelaris are less agresive than Percula thogh they look the same.

That's not how clowns work. A lone clown always becomes female.

Don't kill them, just bring them to a lfs. They're only being aggressive because they feel overcrowded.

Killing them should never be an option IMO. Try pulling them from the tank for a bit, maybe rearrange some of the work work, leave them out for a week or two before putting them back. Might help reset them a bit.
