Thinkin about a refugium!

Hey reefers,

My tank has been up for about 4 months. I want a refugium. I am going to use a 20 gal tall glass aqaurium. What do u guys think? And will it hurt my three yellow tangs I just added and my two clowns? Will it start my cycling process over again?

refugiums are great, if set up correctly. however it is kinda hard to set it up wrong. tank won't re-cycle, it's just like a water change, it's only going to help you out by having one

read the selling rules, i think you have to be a member for 3 or 4 months before you can sell

just make sure when you make the refugium to have a slow flow going through it as well as some chaeto or caleurpa from an established refugium to get the benefit from it. if you are going to put live rock in it, you have to make sure it is CURED live rock, and you will not have a cycle. also, if the tank you are using is used, then wash it out with vinegar before setting it up
