I'm thinking about buying 1 or 2 Tunze power head but now sure what to get and do i need the controller if so what controller and what do i buy which power head...I was thinking about the vortex mp40 so i hope i can get some help here...here is the size of my tank

72L X 24W X 30H

Thanks for any advice if i need magnets let me know i need to know exactly what i need to get it running properly thanks in advance:fun2:

What do you plan on keeping in the tank? Likely a pair of 6105s on a 7096 controller would be a good bet.

I was thinking about some LPS and softies for now and maybe later some sps not sure what is the difference between the 6105 and 6200's...is the 7096 the new controller just wondering if the 7095 may do the same thing at a cheaper cost cause its not the newest model. just wondering what would be the difference between eveything posted in here thanks

7096 is thhe newer and cheaper model. The controller is cheaper as it is easier to build but is programmed by your computer instead of dials and buttons on the face like the 7095.

The 6205s are a much stronger pump with a wider flow pattern. 6105s would be plenty for lps and softies and even with some sps mixed in later. If once you got them you find you want to spread or "slow" the flow down even more you can purchase the front housings for a 6205 separately.

so i can buy the 6105 and attach a 6205 housing if i want spread or slow down the flow and how easy is it to control the controller thru the computer what other things will i need to hook it up to the computer or are they wireless

Yes the front of the 6105 and 6205 are interchangable. That being said it is likely something that wont be needed or done, but based on preferances and desires it can be so just like to let people know. This does not upgrade them to a 6205 though

As for the controller nothing else should be needed it is plugged in via USB to your computer to program then taken back to the aquarium once done to plug back to the pumps in most cases. Neither the controller nor the pumps are wireless. As far as ease of use it seems that the general opinion is it is easy and very functional. The 7096 actually is more versitile than the 7095 as you can program all four channels independently as well as it does wavebox control if ever needed.

You can also change the 6105 to 12V from the 18V, the lower voltage jumper is included, this gives a max flow of 2000gph for smaller tanks and soft corals which need less flow.

do i have to buy the magnet seperately with the 6105 or better yet if i buy a use one or new what should come with it i see some post about a stronger magnet or a holder or something just not sure what i should be getting with this stuff that is why i'm asking before i go and buy want to make sure ....sorry about all the question just want to be a well inform buyer thanks for all the help
