I have a tank (60"x36"x25") i am currently running a tek T5 light 48" with 8 bulbs on the front half of the tank and running 3 250W MH with 4 96W PC lights on the back half.
Do you think it would be better to run 2 of the TEK light fixtures as i have an extra one laying around instead of the MH fixture.
also do you think this will be ok.
I am trying to cut the electricity bill a little i am planning on keeping LPS, SPS and zoas.
so it would be a total of 18 T5 lights over the tank.

my math comes up with 16 bulbs...but that is just me...LOL

i think that you would have to centre the bulbs over your rock work to make it effective, 36 front to back is a tonne of room to cover with those two fixtures i would think...as for depth penetration i think the lights will be just fine...might even be too hot (bright) at the bottom for lower light corals too...

the two fixtures will certainly suck up a lot less hydro then your current setup...like 700+watts less

Naww, go 12 (648 watts )front to back, that will P*** off your softies bad enough. That is what I run on my 60" x 36" x 26". All ATI lamps--- Aquablue and Blue + (6 each.) 18 lamps will fry your tank most likely, and not save you as much money (972 watts) The 12 lamps will give you six inches all around the tank to hide yer softies........

ok nice call 16 bulbs i just finished a 12 hour shift in afganistan so give me a break.
i have 2 of the 8 bulb fixtures so should i just center it and then run only 4 of the bulbs on the 2nd set to make 12 bulbs.

10th Mountain Division, thank you for you service. (ummm not to be mean, but you dropped the "h", snicker.......) I know a gal that works at the Ft. Drum gym (or used to anyway....)

If gunna run twelve, don't use the first lamp of the first fixture, and don't use the last lamp of the second fixture.

Regards.
