Thinking of Getting Achilles & Sohal Tangs

I personally feel that a sohal or naso for that matter, shouldn't be kept in anything less than a 300 because of their adult size.

I agree, and when you factor the aggression of some tang species it is a recipe for disaster. IMO you can put the sailfin, clown, Prionurus, or any tang that gets over 30 cm. in that catagory as well, I had a Indo-pac sailfin outgrow my 180, they get huge although it took him 11 years to get as big as he did.

Does size make the fish more or less agressive. For example, if instead of a 5" sohal I got a 2" sohal, or if I got a small achilles instead of a large size one, would that make any difference as far as them being nicer to other fish?

Initially it might, but as mentioned above, it will grow.

I agree about the 300g; that's a decent size for fish like this.

I posted a thread in reef descussion, but no respones yet. I bought a 4" Achilles today and my smaller Sailfin is pestering him! I havent seen any fin nipping, nor does the Sailfin bother the Achilles when they eat. Should this end soon? or do I remove the sailfin? I really love this Achilles and dont want to stress him anymore than necessary.
