hey guys, I guess I'm a total noob, but why is aiptasia the son of Satan? I never had a major problem with it. They just look like pretty anemones.

I had a few in my 180g tank and they were never a huge problem, but they can be if the conditions are right. They can spread like wildfire and sting corals.

IME only when they confuse them with the worms that are their normal food. At best they just harass them to stay in their hole during the day.

What worked for me are peppermint shrimp. Pretty much the same situation as with the copper band only that the shrimp does it day and night.

The only true predator on Aptasia are Berghia nudibranches

I bought four peppermint shrimp to deal with the three Aptasia I had in my tank. Nothing happened. I then resorted to Aptasia X. This worked very well. They died very quickly without spreading.
