This brine shrimp hatched is amazing.

A LFS had it and talked me into buying it. It was expensive but it's so simple it was totally worth it. Basically you add eggs to the outside ring, and 24 hours later the brine are in the center strainer with all of the egg capsules left over on the outer ring.

You would be much better off getting decapsulated brine shrimp cysts. The shells harbor lots of bacteria which will go into your system when you feed. If you can't find decapsulated BS cysts you can make your own at home.

I love that thing! My LFS has a really hard time getting them in so we stock up when they find them! We tried decapsulation for serval months and different techniques but with minimal success. These disks of awesomeness have given me the time to figure out how to be successful at all culturing techniques for BBS. Yes, I love it and wish it was more available!

But this separates the cysts so none get into the tank. Is it still a problem just from the cysts being in the hatching water?

Cysts transfer the nasty bacteria to the hatching water, and while you might get away without noticeable problems for some time, you just don't know when the unlucky time will happen.
Basic rule of thumb to lessen bacterial transfer IMO is to never let hatching water touch the tank water, and rinse the brine well before adding to the tank.

If you are raising seahorse fry you have to be very careful with feeding BBS. make sure you're rinsing them like rayjay said and sterilize your brine shrimp net.
