a little long, but I gotta set the stage...
I took the morning off from work today because my order from Vivid Aquariums was due to arrive by 10:30. I had a 10:30 meeting, so the timeline was TIGHT. The FedEx guy pulls in my driveway at 10:29, I sign for the package and bring it inside. I open the box up, give everything a quick look, float the bags in my sump, then run out the door to work. In all the hurry, I forget to grab my daughter's softball stuff, which she needs for practice tonight.
So after my 10:30 meeting, I run home to get the softball stuff. I walk in the door and my dogs are cowering (very typical when they've done something wrong). I roll my eyes thinking they went to the bathroom in the house or got up on the counter and licked the syrup off the kids' breakfast plates... something along those lines.
No, of course it's not that simple. They reached into my sump, pulled out the bags that I had floated, carried them to different corners of the house, and begun to chew them open. Fortunately they started chewing at the top, above where the bags were tied off. 2 bags had very small punctures, but were still holding most of their water. The rest hadn't been punctured. *phew*
I put everything back in the sump, closed the doors on my stand this time, and ran back to work for my 1:45 meeting.
Man, like there weren't enough things to worry about in this hobby - now I gotta worry about my dogs eating my coral??!!?? *sigh*
