This Is The Fish Tank Find Thread

Nothing wrong with originally housing reptiles is there? Several of my tanks had reptiles in them before.

Depends if they were ever treated with any medications... almost all reptile meds are posionous to marine organisms...

^^ thats what im saying...is there a way to clean it out real way? also still looking for a fish tank..im thinking more 120 since they still come in 48 but are much wider and taller... if ne could find one with stand for 200 bucks let me know...i dont want nething else just tank and stand

Get it. The chances of the tank being treated for mites or something along those lines are not that great. Besides, the tank you buy at Petsmart may have been cleaned with formula 409. You never really know. Clean it when you get it with a mild soap and hot water, and it'll be okay.

One of my display tanks was used as a reptile tank for years at That Pet Place and I have had no chemistry or mystery problems with any of my animals.

I havent personally expierenced this, but I know of a few people who attribute that to some tank problems... but who knows what the causes really are. Personally if its the right price for the tank i figure its worth a try... unless you are one of those colored stick people it shouldnt really have that big of an impact if its cleaned before its set up.

I am looking for a cheap 75g non drilled tank for a sump for my 110g. I need the biggest sump I can fit under my stand while I am away at the beach for the summer. I need to get a huge container for an ATO as well, so I won't have to come back every few days to add water. If anyone has anything like that, let me know!

If you havent sold all those tanks yet, why not use the 360 as a sump? The larger the body of water the more forgiving the system.

I have a 90 gal. tank for sale. It came from That Pet Place, and has never been used. It's at least a couple years old, and still has the shipping cardboard on one end. I'll post a picture tonight.
If anyone is interested, PM me?

Ha, the 360g won't fit under the stand, LOL! I'm considering getting rid of everything though, might be easier to take a break from the hobby.

Who says it has to fit under the stand? Put it next to the 110g

Think about this, if you built an ATO that was a simple float switch and the ro/di water was in a 5 gallon bucket. that should give you a few days before the bucket would need to be filled. If the AtO failed and dumped the 5 gallons in at once, it would hardly make a difference in 470 gallons of water.

Haha,If I really used the 360g as a sump, I wouldn't even need at ATO for the whole summer! I don't have the room anywhere for that huge 360g tank unfortunately. Otherwise I would have set it up! Al, I'm sure you have room? It would make a really nice display!
