That's crazy, I hope they receive some international support on this issue. There is a huge disaster just waiting to happen there(or already happening)

The Moldives have been the standard for the most clean beaches and reefs. I think still they are in much better shape than many other island countries. They chose to sacrifice one of their small islands for just waste. Waste management is a huge issue with most small tropical island countries. There really is no good solution for it. To ship their waste to another country is just not gonna happen. Perhaps investing into better waste burning technology would be a step but still far from solution.
