This pump any good?

Hello! i don't think I've heard too much about ViaAqua pumps so i want to know if its any good. i thought about getting the model 3600 for a return pump on my 75g mixed reef: <http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4587+8164&pcatid=8164>

Ran a small one in a nano. Pumped fine, added too much heat.

need to know if anyones had bad experience with these things.... about to order today........ don't want to waste money on something that will junk out in a few days...

It ran over 6 months in my nano. Just ended up being hotter than a maxijet so I switched back in the summer of this year. It was running good when I yanked it.

I've had several and all of them failed after about a year. YMMV.

if you arent getting very many responses, its probably because not many people use them. why dont they use them? who knows, but i would go with something that has a good track record.

If your trying to find one for your upcoming 75, use a mag 7, can't go wrong! You could probably find one used for about $50 on here.

I ran a 4900 a few weeks as a return pump.
Noisy and hot but handled backpressure than an Askoll 7000.
Pump never failed to start up.

IMO heat is a MAJOR problem in our tanks.
Seems like that complaint about this pump is pretty much accross the board.
Save yourself a few bucks and look for another return pump.
