This wek my bluestripe pipefish and ruby red dragonette are pregnant

I thought the dragonette was a little to young but she proved me wrong. The pipefish spawn all the time as do all my paired fish.

I can't see, but does the pipefish have the eggs on her stomach already? Or is she just full of eggs? Either way, congratulations! Are you planning on raising them?

Yes, he has the eggs under his belly in that picture but it is hard to see. Here is an old picture of a different pipefish I had that was pregnant. You can see it better here.

I don't raise fish any more. Almost all my fish spawn all the time and have been for many years. I used to raise some of them but it is a full time job and I am just happy they are spawning. Those bluestripe pipefish are only 2" long so their babies are smaller than this -------------------> , <----------------- Try to catch that in a 6' long very old tank.

I hope to see my little ruby red get a belly like that. She & her hubby haven't shown any spawning behavior yet.

Keep them well fed, that is the only way. Once they start spawning, you can't stop them

No, I don't raise fisdh any more. All my paired fish spawn every few weeks, I am just happy they are spawning as that is what healthy fish do all the time. I have not raised any fish in probably 20 years. It is very time consuming and you have to be near them every day.
