Thought I'd ask here-yellow tang

A friend of mine is really enjoying my tank when he comes over for a visit.I think he's getting the bug. He wants to set up a tank and I found him a 60 gallon high for a decent price. It comes with everything he would need to start a FOWLR. He really wants a yellow tang and a clownfish. Here's the deal:
He is moving to Ireland in 2015 in which case the tank will be shut down. Will a small yellow tang 2-3 inches be ok in this tank for the next two years with minimal scaping? Thanks

By the time it's set-up, cycled and matured enough for a tang it will be around mid 2014. I'd try to talk him into something else. There's plenty of smaller fish that are yellow or have a lot of yellow in them. Gramma, YWG, Lemonpeel or midas blenny off the top of my head.

Yellow Wrasse! Before i got my Coral Beauty this was my favorite fish and is always fun to watch "grazing" the rocks. Nice bright yellow coloration with scattered black dots on fins. I believe they lose the black dots eventually tho.

Thanks for your help. What would be the main reason for not doing so? Is it because he has to sell it?

Well, sort of. It seems like starting up a tank with the intention of tearing it down after a year would be unfair to any fish your friend chooses to add. He will need to take the time to find them all good, responsible homes when he's done. That said, a 60g is too small for a yellow tang, which is why many people here are suggesting other bright, active, yellow fish that could live comfortably in that tank as alternatives. If the plan is a coral tank, I don't recommend a lemonpeel. They are among the least reef safe of dwarf angels.
