Thoughts on Jebao powerheads?

I'm only recently back in the reefing game and was looking to add some flow to my nanocube but I'm out of touch with all the current hardware.
In the past I always went with koralias. I was going to buy one for my 28 gallon and then saw these Jebaos. I read mixed reviews on here, but it seemed like there were a lot of nay-sayers.

Anyone using one on a smaller reef tank- if so would you suggest the PP4 or the PP8. I'm leaning towards the 8 but 4 might be a better choice to avoid overkill and I'm not going to do much SPS

also if anyone has a used koralia 1 or smaller jebao close to davis/woodland, I would be interested purchasing it!

For a 28g I would go with 2 PP4. They work well but need to be cleaned regularly. They don't take abuse as well as MP10s.

Thanks thats inline with a lot of what i've read. so much cheaper than MP10s.

I know you say two pp4s but for the sake of saving money if i could only get one would you think the pp8 is overkill. or would you suggest i get the one pp4 and get an additional one when i have some more cash? Both models run about $60 on amazon.

Great bang for your buck, I would get a pp4 the 8 can only go so low but the 4 can be run faster. Contact Tweakes182 on here or join the Mars Fb group he sells the jeabo stuff and usually can beat Amazon.

Must have been bad luck, I have a wp60 that I have had going for 2.5 years

The majority of them don't last very long. I have multiple wp10s and 1 out of the 4 I believe still works! I have 2 rw20s that lasted a year then motor died on both. Hit and miss at best! also the rubber that they use will start to break down and when you touch it you will end up with black fingers.

I have a 2 8's going on almost 2 years without a hiccup. You do need to change the ceramic bushings that it comes with, they seize up. I cut new bushings out of RO tubing when I clean the pumps every 4-5 months. I have mine running off the jbwave.

I have ran them a long time and yes they do go out, the rubbers
go away if you soak them in vinegar just remove the rubbers before
cleaning the units, I have been switching to the Coral Box pumps
and the noise difference is incredible, night and day difference
the Coral Box are almost quite.
