thoughts on kessil A150 Led...

yeah looks like the web page was taken down just as fast as it was put up. There was a picture of the two models and some engineering specs about the size of them. Some drawings of the two different standard optics available. Two graphs that showed the intensity and spread of the light. Although there wasn't any values given on the intensity side of the chart, just an intensity curve. Some specs were given is watts consumed and spread in diameter. Not sure if I left anything out.

I just had a 24x24x24in aquarium built, and I plan on it being sps dominated, with shaded area's having rics / shrooms. I already have a 15k A150w over my 4g pico, and it's doing great. Coral coloration has improved in all except for my orange monti, but thats due to my highly fluctuating water para's, given the pico only actually hs about 2g of water in it with the amoint of rock / sand i have in there. My question is would adding another A150w, 10k version, be enough for an sps dominated tank? Including say, a few lps like plate coral on the sand bed.

Updates. I've been using the light for about 3 months and love it.

updated shots, still looking great and loving it

Nice, I've been using mine for 3 months and my experience is that LPS and soft corals do great. I put some montis under the light but they browned, I have to say they are at the bottom of my solana.
I believe this could be considered a medium light (a little less than a 150w MH), so SPS should be placed closer to the surface.

I have had a birdsnest under the light for a month or two without losing color. I also have a spongodes in the tank that has been there for 3 months and looks fine in terms of color. It's sandwiched between shrooms and lps so the stinging it gets doesn't allow it to grow further.

Growth has been limited for SPS but I only do a water change once a month in that tank and don't supplement anything so I wouldn't expect a ton of growth for SPS. I don't expect the calcium/alk levels to be great with this much LPS in a small tank so I can't accurately rate the light for SPS.

Have had mine for almost 9 months. I think im starting to dislike them more every dy. You really need two of these units for sps. If your acros are not directly centered underneath it your light, they color up funky and uneven. I just feel like all of my corals are reaching for more light, even the softies.

Can you give us more specs of your setup? How high above the waterline is it? Distance from waterline to sandbed?

Would 3 Kessil's in a 75 gallon tank - 24 inches long work?

2 Kessil's at 10K
1 Kessil at 20K

Tank has a canope (hinged)

How would you advise me on placement under the canope?

I sure appreciate your help!
