Thoughts on opening a ATI fixture

I have a 24" 8 bulb ATI. I'm considering removing the 2 center bulbs and replacing them with 2 Kessil 160. I have access to a bridge port at work that I could do a clean cut with.

Has anyone opened up a ATI fixture before? If so, how's the wiring in there and is this something that could be done?

ATI sunpowers are fairly straight forward to take apart. Check out YouTube videos for "ATI ballast replacement" and that will give you an idea of how to approach taking the fixture apart. A word of caution however... the aluminum on the Sunpowers is very thin, so be careful. Also, be sure to have a strategy to have the Kessils vent properly to keep the LEDs and the fixture properly cooled. Dave of Nanobox Reef retrofits his LED arrays into ATI Sunpower fixtures and adds additional fans to keep his arrays cool.
