Thoughts on Sunrise Dottyback

I have been looking at dottybacks and pseudochromis for awhile for my tank. I currently have a ruby head fairy wrasse in the tank. 40 breeder. But had purchased a sunrise and read before purchasing it and reading again but reading a mix between their agressiveness. Any thoughts on putting him on my tank or should I consider some other fish? I was thinking of putting a clown in my tank also and that pretty much my stock list

Actually, worse than that especially in a small tank.

So any dottybacks or psuedochromis that arent major aholes besides assessors?

These are the single worst fish ive ever heard of. One almost killed all my fish. I have never heard of a good sunrise. Orchid Dottys are great though.

Fridmani dottybacks are about the least aggressive of the species. Mine was very timid and showed absolutely no aggression.you have to be sure it's actually a fridmani though. Some stores mis-label the purple dottyback as a fridmani. The fridmani has a deep blue/black streak that runs through the eyes.

ive got an orchid thats getting along with some gobies half his size.....he gets a lil grumpy if someone tries to join him in his preferred hiding spot but short of that he has been getting along with everyone including those added after him....

I have a peaceful pair of ORA Fridmani dottybacks

Never had a sunrise, but my neon dottyback is a good fish in the tank, much better than some of my other fish

I've had good luck with both fridmanis and the neon dottyback.

I know I said sunrise are a major pain, but they are fun to watch and can get along w other fish, just get it small and LAST. Its color is certainly beautiful.

Well Illl reconsider a dottyback in the future. Thanks for everyones feedback. But this guy is going to one of my local club members to a rather large tank
