Thoughts on the Radion XR30w Pro

Has anyone gotten to play around with these new lights over their own DT yet? It appears that the lights are available from online retailers, but I haven't heard much chatter about them as of yet.

I ordered one last night and was going to cancel it today but the family said to keep it, since they love the led look.

I will get mine on Tuesday. I will post a short clip and some pics for everyone :)

Am dying to hear real world feedback on how a reef looks when illuminated by a pro. Waiting patiently...

I have the Gen 1's as well and am happy with them. Guess I am looking for input from those who have upgraded to the Pro, but most upgraders are probably in hold mode.

I played around with the Pro's at MACNA in Dallas last year. I have 5 gen 1's and will be upgrading them all to Pro's. They had a tank with Pro's over it and a tank with gen 1's. I personally think the extra LED's made a huge difference in color and how the corals in the tank fluoresced.

They let me play around with the controls and I turned on just the blue channels on the gen 1's and the blues and UVs on the Pro. WOW! It was like night and day. I don't care about the other colors really. It's the UVs that made the huge difference. Corals looked like they were under a black light.

I have one over one side of my tank now. I have a Reefbreeders 32" on the other side. I'll be writing up a somewhat detailed review on them soon.

The colors of corals and fish really do get better with the pro. Right now, I have difficulty getting the light to stay on the schedule I put it on. I set it from 10-10pm at 70% intensity and 40% reduced for 6weeks for acclimation purposes.

The thing turns on at 7am and turns off at like 11pm...

The colors are great tho lol

Here is my best shot of the Pro:

I am wondering the same. I have 3 Gen 1 with the TIR lenses on my 220. I am in the process of a tank makeover and was considering adding a 4th Gen 1 or doing the Pro upgrade. I think I will wait until the spring and make sure there aren't any hiccups.

I'm playing with a Pro right now, but this is my first experience with an LED light. I really don't know what I'm doing. I just used the default cycle and tweaked it a little bit. Anybody have suggestions on deviating away from the default to better growth colors?
