Three nano tanks at work

not that I recommend you do it, but with our company we didn't ask and just did it. All of management just ignored it for a few months, and then a few of them were like "oh, I didn't know you had a fish tank". We really don't understand it, but we don't ask any questions. The really fishy part is when we bring in two or three 6 gallon jugs full of water for top off and water changes. We just tell everyone it's server cooling fluid.

lol.. that's awesome :-)

I'd love to have something like that.. but.. i might as well work my way up a bit first before tempting faith taht much!

maybe someday

I have to go through that too, except I commute on the bus. I try to just take some water in on the weekends, that way people don't look at me funny when I get on the bus with an IO bucket full of water.:)

Nice job guys... what kind of light are you guys using?
check out my tank ON my desk...2.5 GAL

wow, nice tank! Do you have issues with evaporation on such a small tank or does the lid cut down on that?

As for the lighting we're all different. I'll let the other guys speak for their tanks. I have a 150w HQI Halide over my tank. It's a 14k bulb. The bulb is pretty old and needs replacing, but I hate to put more money in the tank right now. I could also use some more actinic, (the other guys don't think so, but I really like the actinic), but I'm not sure the best way to implement it. Right now I have one blue moon light with two blue leds. I thought about just adding one or two more of those and seeing if that helped.

I'm running a 14K 70 watt halide w/ a 36 watt PC actinic. I'd really like to throw a 250 watt halide over it, but don't really want to dump any more money into this tank right now.

Thanks for the info on the lights guys... right now I only have PC lights... I am planning to keep only softies... so no MH are needed plus evaporation will be a pain... I loose about 1/4 cup daily... no biggie...I currently have 2X9W PC 1-10k and 1 actinic ... I am planning on adding another set of 9W...to make it 36W in total…

Keep it up... your tanks are looking good

I have 3 t5 normal output bulbs over my tank. 2 are 10k one is actinic. The lights in my cube under my flipper-doors were 36" t5 fictures, so I put all three of them over my tanks so I only had to buy bulbs. It's 42 watts of 10k, but most of it is not over the tank, so I'm not really sure what I'm getting. I do have some SPS in there though and it is doing alright.

I bought one acro that was brown with green polyps and the brown is turning purple. I have some acros with green. My orange monti has turned pink, as have my digitata frags. I think things would be better with MH lights, but I don't want the excess heat.

This is my new ricordia. It's a really neon green color with an almost purple rim.

The purpose of this picture is to show how my xenia is climbing around my tank. If you look at the previous pics of my tank the pom pom xenia was all together toward the bottom of the tank. One stalk decided it was going to go for a journey and has climbed all the way to the top of the tank and split into three pieces. My xenia elongata on the other side of the tank has done the same thing.

Word on the street is JargonMan has a new 10 gallon he hasn't posted any pictures of and NanoKeeper just got a new light for his tank!
