Three S. Gigantea today!!!

I actually don't think it looks that bad. :-) It looks like it inflated quite a bit. The mouth closing is a good sign. Exposed siphonoglyphs are not really a concern.

I typically let my gigs acclimate without any meds until the evening. Right before lights out I'll determine if I need to do a water change (if there is a lot of waste or discharge). After the water change I'll observe the nem for a few minutes. If I determine the nem needs treatment, I'll add the meds and turn off the lights, and hope for the best when I wake up in the morning.

Some believe that the antibiotic treatment doesn't stress out the nem. I tend to think it does because I believe bleaching and the antibiotics are related. If you don't need to treat it, I don't recommend doing it. However, if it deflates, even once, then definitely treat the nem and don't wait for the second deflation. By that time it may be too late.

ctran,
Please keep us update. Either start a new thread, use this one or piggyback on my thread. Best of luck.
