how much are you injecting? turn it up...it will raise. also, do you do water changes? lower orp is a sign of needing to do a WC. finially, do you run carbon? carbon raises orp as well.

mburn, is it usually off in the higher or lower direction?

usually off in the higher direction. So when it needs to be cleaned, it states a false hgher reading.

I do 20% water changes every two weeks. My 100 mg unit is cranked up all the way and yes I run carbon. I also give my probe a soak in vinager once a week.

I think my milwaulkee is stil in break in period.
After last night it's reading 304 -303 now

this might have been covered already in this thread.... does anyone know of a retailer that sells the silica beads used in air driers by the pound? I want to build a bigger unit than the 250 I have now...

thanks

kevin

it was covered in the first thread before split (around pg 10?)....I got a few more lbs since I am in the same boat as you. the 250 g is to small.

It was vertitemp.com. If I ma wrong...just go back and look....:) I bookmark a few thread (more like a lot) and that is one..

I have a 300 mg generator on my 250 gal system. I have a HUGE spread in orp value day compared to night. at night my generator can get the value to my 425 super fast at a very low setting. during the day and after feedings, or water changes, it will drop to 350 and wont get anywhere back to 400 anytime during the day. wont even hold steady at 350 unless I increase the juice. anyone have an opinion on that?

Well I know the skimmer is getting enough air.... what I did was take a piece of 1" pvc, capped both ends, drilled 3 holes in it (two on one side and 1 on the other) put some ridged tubing in the two holes on the same side. Then I attached my skimmer air intake to one side and the ozone injector to the other. I then adjusted the pump to just put enough air in so that I could still feel a little suction from the free hole in the pvc. This way I know that the skimmer is getting enough air, I can also turn off the ozonator and airpump and the skimmer continues to operate as normal.....

Just switched to the above setup. It definitely is better than how I previously had the ozone set up.

I agree... my skimmer has never had an issue with starving for air. Im still fiddling with how to attatch hose to pvc. did you guys glue ridgid tubing? Or shove the tubing directly in the hole? how did you glue. I just siliconed in ridgid tubing

Mine is probbaly a 3 " piece of 1" pvc, with a cap on each end. A hold is drilled in 1 cap, left open. On the other end is a airline tubing connecter that goes to the skimmer. In the middle of the tube is a hole drilled with a piece of airline inserted.

If I put my finger over the vent hole, the skimmer overflows, so I know I'm still getting negative pressure in the vessle, even with the airpump on the ozone, so no worries.

(If my skimmer doesnt get enough air, it overflows)

It's been almost 2 weeks and my milwaulkee is still acting dumb.
When I apply ozone orp goes down.
What gives?

Ti. I would give it time. when I first applied ozone, my orp went down and dropped for about an hour, then it started to rise. now all is goon. mine stays around 400-425. except when I feed and it drops a ton. How long have you been running it? are you turnin it off when you see it drop?? i would let it run a while. dont worry about the slight drop
