Your tank looks amazing!!!
:D

How tall is your tank?
I know my SH like a tall tank--24 inches-- are yours doing ok in your 20.

I rememver when I had a 20 set up for fresh water, it was only 12 inches high.
12 inches - 8 inches per SH only gives them 4 inches- sand to work with. :|

I dont mean to get on your case and I'm sorry if it sounds that way. :(

Just trying to help and I wish my tank looked that good! :D

My tank is only 12" tall as well w/ 0.5" sandbed. I'm not exactly sure as to what my seahorses like or dislike about the 15g (since i'm not a pet psychic). But in terms of visible behavioral patterns and overall health, they look fine.

i believe the height is only important for their courtship ritual which involves swimming up and down. i think they should be fine without a lot of height, they just wont reproduce succesfully probably.

btw--the tank looks great, youve got me trying to figure out where to set up a nano in my home now

Yeah. If you dont want them to reproduce, height probably isnt as important--its still important.
I love your tank, just asking about your setup. :)

Ive been following this thread for a while and I have to say I really love your tank. Im going to be setting up a 10 gallon tank with 10 gallon sump here pretty soon and am trying to think of the best way to do my overflow. I like how clean yours is....just wondering how quiet or loud it is?

updated shot of blasto cove. these babies are getting HUGE!

and thanks for the kind words. I think my head is too big to fit thru the opening. I'll give it a shot tho. =)

Thanks for the kind words.

bad news - lost my seahorses. =( my pump for my auto-top-off stopped working and my salinity was at around 1.030+ when I checked the water. both died around the same time soon after.

i think I'm just cursed when it comes to fish.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Casper has really put up with a lot in my Pico tank. At night, that tank easily gets down to 74/75F if I'm not attentive, and a few days ago it was at 85F because I forgot to plug the cooling fan back in.

Salinity has risen high in that tank, and PO4 is a real pain. She continues to put up with whatever I throw at her, even though I really do my best to keep everything as stable as possible. For the past day or so, the tank has stayed near 79F - the calm before the next storm.

Do you think you'll get more seahorses? Did you enjoy having these? I'm sure you aren't cursed.

Thanks, guys.

I loved the seahorses! I can't imagine any other fish in this tank anymore. And the ones I got were very easy to train to eat frozen mysis off of the toadstool leather.

I'm going to give it one more shot w/ the seahorses from oceanrider. if they don't make it either, I think this tank will remain LPS/coral-only for good.

oh and a mini update: just added an Aqua C Urchin to my set-up over the weekend.
