Tiger Pistol Shrimp???

I have a tiger pistol shrimp paired up with a white ray fin goby in a 24 nano - he digs like CRAZY!! I've had him for probably 7 months and he's almost doubled in size in that time. He's awesome!

They will kill and eat small shrimp and their burrowing may cause rocks to fall over, I wouldn't buy won

I have one with my YWG, gone from about an inch to about 2"...vigorous digger, quiet citizen. This is a 54g tank with pep shrimp, crabs, small fishes: haven't lost any livestock to him in his 6 months in the tank. The YWG is my largest guy. I did put eggcrate down before building my rock pile, so my rocks are pretty solidly based. He makes a new burrow every few days.

I've got my tiger in the nano with about 6 or so sexy shrimp and they get along fine. I have no doubt that there are some rouge shrimp out there that are menaces and like to snack on other inhabitants. We've had a few pistols, and none of them have been that way. I say try it out and just keep an eye on him.

As far as falling rock work, be smart when you set it up is the best advice I can say. We put ours in and made sure it's actually on the glass, no just sitting on the sand. If you have a solid base when you start, the shrimp isn't as likely to destroy it. The egg crate is also a really good idea.
