Tiger Tails?

I got 'the package' from TBS and with the second shipment richard sent 2 tiger tails. From all the info I can find they are supposed to 'eat' the sand which cleans it and stirs it.

But both of mine won't go near the sand!

I have put them on the sand a few times but they both crawl back up on the rocks.

Am I wrong about what these are supposed to do?

If they were in different spots each morning I would think they were getting out at night. But they are in exactly the same spot each morning.

They don't move all day and it seems they don't move all night!

Any insight would be helpful.

One last thing if it is relevant. One of them 'molted'? At least some of his outer skin peeled off. It does look prettier as my wife said now that that skin came off.

Is that a normal thing also?

That is normal.

Can you get a picture?

Do you see any feeding tentacles?

If they are fine, tree like, and extend out into the water, they are not sand sifters.

But it may take them some time to adapt to conditions as well.
