Tinker with raised scales

I have a air of tinker butterflies in QT for roughly 3 weeks. They were shipped directly from the HI waters. After several days after acclimation, I did one full dose of Prazi and attempted to use Cupramine. The Butterflies did not like the copper, so I stopped treatment. I was apprehensive about using a second dose of Prazi since the butterflies were stressed . I noticed that the larger of the two Tinkers has several areas where there is discoloration and raised scales. The fish is eating and swimming normally, but there is at least three areas where the discolored raised scales. My question is if this is more parasites under the scales, or a bacterial infection that needs antibiotics. I ordered medication from fishyfarmacy.com. I ordered medicine called De-Los which kills fluke and its eggs, along with other parasites. I also ordered a wide array of anti-fungal and antibiotics. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Flukes can cause the symptoms you described. Doesn't mean it is, but could be. Never used De-los. For me I have found that to kill adult flukes and eggs takes two 5-7 day treatments of Prazipro.

Do you think it could handle a FW dip? Flukes and velvet would fall off.

Anti-bacterial is always a good idea with external wounds.

What do you think is less stressful, a FW dip or a 15 minute formalin bath? The meds that I ordered won't be here until Friday. I should have a pretty nice medicine cabinet for my fish. The fish doesn't seem to be suffering. In the mean time I dose Vitamin C every day and use selcon in their food.

I think I would do a 2-4 minute FW dip. If it is flukes, or velvet, the adults should fall off giving the fish relief.

Got my FDA approved medicine from Fishy Farmacy today. I plan on doing the De-Los treatment for 5-7 days and then antibiotics for several days. I am doing a 50% water change prior to treatment. The discolored spots have started to fade, but I still think there is fluke on the fish. I love the price of fish sent direct from the collectors, but they are alot of extra work to get them to eat and deal with every little disease in QT. I will give an update after treatment.

I was thinking that the discolored area with the raised scales might have been where the fish was needled.

I thought about that too. My friend got a Bandit Angel and it had a brownish discoloration. However on my Tinkers it has slowly gone away after dosing Vitamin C and Selcon. They have been eating alot of Nori, but barely touch the meaty stuff. At the end of the week i am doing a freshwater dip to ensure there is no more fluke. If there is I am doing a Formalin Dip and adding back to my other 40 gallon QT with clean, unmedicated water for another week. Qt'ing wild caught fish is quite a process.
