Tiny blue tangs..

I was given one by a friend who purchased it but was getting harassed by a larger group of blue tangs in a 400g. Its about 1 inch in length, and is currently the only fish in a RedSea Max250(65g). I was planning on keeping it a coral only tank, but what the heck. I know tiny juveniles are more difficult to care for, any advice? He greedily goes after frozen brine, but theyre almost too big for his mouth. I can't tell if he eats anything or if he just puts it in his mouth and spits it back out..

Try seaweed along with some formula 2 flakes maybe? If the coral tank doesn't have any fish in it and hasn't you would be ok. They are more susceptible ich so a QT if the coral tank has fish in it or has had in the last 9 wks is a must

minced pe Mysis...spirulina enriched brine-better than brine, hikari mega angel, live black worms, nori on a clip or attached to lr...is it a blue or hippo?

Flake works well for small tangs too. I currently have one of these micro blue hippos in my QT. He started with flake.

Never had any fish in the tank since it's been set back up again.. Didn't QT it, but I plan on it being the only fish. Not sure how to tell if it's a hippo or not? It doesn't have a yellow belly, but maybe it's too small to have one yet? I know the tank is too small regardless, but I think it's ok for the time being. I'll probably give it to the LFS once it gets a few inches. Granted i can keep it alive. I've been feeding it spirulina enriched brine, going to the store to get mysis and some nori sheets. Don't they need to be fed more frequently compared to adult fish?

feed a lot...babies need it...I feed my baby trigs and angels a min of 3x a day...but when I first get them up to 8 times a day- just lots of real small meals and a variety of items...hippos have the black "nike" stripe on their bodies...
post a pic...would love to see....good luck...
