Tiny Mantis Shrimp ??? or is it?

lastnight i went round my tank with a flashlight to see what life there was and i noticed a small grey thing looked like a tiny mantis shrimp i mean tiny it must of been about 1cm it was gray colour with silver sides? could this be a mantis shrimp?
could it be a threat at this size and get big in my 40gal?
if it is a mantis how do i get it out?

Probably an amphipod. Look on Google.

Was it floating about in the water column, or on your rocks? If you noticed it peering out of a hole in one of your rocks it could be a mantis otherwise there's a pretty good chance it's just a pod.

looks more like a amphipod but it dint have the tail thing like a mantis shrimp. but it wasnt floating in the water it ran out of a big pile of rocks (FAST!) and then ran onto another rock and stayed there for a few seconds and then ran into a tiny hole in the rocks but i dint see the big googley eyes. looks a lot like a amphipod though

night. most mantids are diurnal, so yeah im betting amphipod as well.
