Sorry for the crappy pics.

it's bad, when i first started out, i knew very little. I kept wondering why all the new fish i introduced started dying. they did not have the immunity to deal with the ich i had in my tank. the only way is to quanrentine all your fish with cooper treatment for 72 days. this is a little extreme but imo, needs to be done.

The little guy has just pass away :( I'm not too happy but the things is, thats my daughter's favorit fish and I don't know how she is going to take it

You can add garlic in the food you feed to your fish. You can buy garlic enriched frozen food, such as brine shrimp, or just simply add it yourself. The best product is this really heavy duty extract that you can buy from a shop that sell organic products (at least here in Finland). Your LFS might also sell some products...

Melt your brine/mysis cube and drip the water out, then just place the shrimp in a small cup and add the garlic extract. You can also add your vitamins and other stuff there, but if you do then don't freeze it! Freezing destroys most of the beneficial vitamins... You can do the same with flakes and pellets too!
Let the garlic extract enriched food be for like 30 minutes, and then give it to your fishes.

If you don't have corals you can also drop your salinity, but this method should be for longer period... At least for 2-3 months!

You can add an UV sterilizer into your system. UV kills everything, so it should be well covered! Here is one product https://www.tetra-service.net/tetra...?seite=6&group_id=625&group_2_id=13&lang_id=2

Higher temperature also speeds up the ich sycle, so that can be done too to get rid of it quicker. For example if you add an UV-sterilizer.

I have ich every time I add new fishes, but in a stable tank it's quite harmless. Usually stress triggers it, and the more you but your hands in the tank, the better the possibilities are for ich to burst.

The best cure is to just let the tank be, and wait it out while keeping your parameters as stable as possible....

Sorry, but I disagree with virtually all of the information in the post above. Please read the stickies.
