Tips and Tricks on Creating Amazing Aquascapes

I have 3 large pieces left that I can attempt to shape. Bought 75 pounds of the pukani. i was really surprised with how much rock I got and how large the pieces are & I have about 70 pounds in my 72 gallon that I want to use one of those pieces in the 90. Rest of the 72 gallons rock is going into the 90's fuge.

Possible 'scape for a 90 gallon build I about to start. Thoughts....

I wanted to get the rock higher but can't seem to come up with anything that just doesn't look like rocks piled on top of each other.

This is going to be a peninsula build.

Looks good, the only thing I could recommend is to get the rightmost piece off the glass and stagger the rocks. Stagger as in set one piece further back to create depth.

Alright about to put my rock in the tank. I put the rock structures together and think I did a good job for my first time of actually breaking them apart and shaping them myself. Now, I have to get them to stand on there own. They want to tip to one side, not much, but they do want to tip. PVC is not an option at this point. The bottom of the rock is already drilled for the appropriate sized acrylic rods I have so I was thinking of getting a acrylic sheet and attaching the rod to the sheet and setting the rocks on separate sheets. Does this seem like a feasible idea? What would I use to attach the rod to the acrylic sheet?

Anyone have anything to say or can recomend any changes to aquascape?

I kinda figured it would have sps on the top, with some plate corals coming out the sides, and lps / rics on the bottom and in the middle.

its for a 36x20x21 dsa 65

Loving it and giving me great ideas for my new 150 setup. Not sure but if you truly want to keep stuff off the sand, maybe some more overhangs for some shade for the low light stuff? Just my newbie opinion.

Thoughts, first time trying this out instead of just stacking rocks and calling it a day. I was trying for a bonsai tree look but, think I failed pretty hard.

Let column will be reduced in height and thickened up towards the back. I just piled up the rock to get out of the way. I tried hanging a black background but cannot get it to stay on. Any tips?

Couldn't be happier.

Here is what I have. Tell me what you think.

Should I bust up the big rocks and rework it?
How do people make over hangs? Do they use glue?

I have only put 6 bits of rock in so not a lot to work with in move around.
Here is a photo so you see how I done it but still not happy with the way its come out.

Acrylic rods sometimes depending on how heavy the rock is and Underwater epoxy. Usually bought at most LFS.

All three of these scapes have the same issues. The rocks are not very fluidly placed. You guys need to make sure to create a background, mid and foreground. There needs to be more flow with the structures and try to get them to lock up correctly. You probably have to make some of the more perfectly round looking pieces more jagged, and natural, and not so perfect.
