Hey guys im new to the sps world and have a couple qustions. First off is my light strong enough? Biocube 29 full spectrum about 90 watts of leds. Second water chemistry phosphate 0.03 i run gfo no algae, nitrate zero i carbon does, great skimmer. Cal 420, mg 1350, i just ordered a alk test. Should i be doesing kalkwasser with just a couple sps frags or is that down the road? Right now i just dose chloride. My parameters are rock solid and stable tank is a year old. Thats all thank you

That size tank, I'm a fan of keeping things simple. Throwing in all sorts of stuff just to chase numbers could cause more headaches than needed. Especially if you're new to SPS. Start with some easy SPS. Stay on top of water changes and those water changes should be enough to replenish what gets consumed.
Just my opinion and in my experience that's what works for me in my 12g. I get pretty good SPS growth and I SHOULD do more water changes.

Yes, KNOW your ALK both in your tank and when doing water changes, the rest will take care of itself...

I does mg and cal chloride, i had my lfs test my alk its at 9. I already have a poccilopora and a couple acros that have colored up more since i bought them. I know the relationship between mg cal and alk are all dependent on eachother which is why i want to start two part or kalk

I want to start growing colonies of sps and i think my next move s halides, ive been in this hobby for a while and need the challange and the joy of course.
