Tips on pairing fish?

Anyone have any advice on how pair mating fish?

Is it best to purchase them as a pair?

I'm thinking of puting a small breeder setup together with left over equipment and give it a go.

I've read through all of the setup threads but haven't read much about the actual mating of fish.

What species? Some are as easy as "any two fish" and others are not.

Which would you recommend to be the easiest?

I was thinking clowns or even damsels to start.

Amphiprion ocellaris , any two will do as long as at least one of them is a juvenile or known male.

a spare tank if they fight so you can reintroduce them later.
