Some people have cajones. I remember actually talking to a wildlife photog and he told me about a friend (fellow pro) who set up rope along a river and then had some kids chase a deer so it would leap over the river right where he was set up to take the shot. Using a motion sensor is one thing, but I wonder what the story is behind some of these "amazing" shots really is? These days with proficeny in PS as good as it is I almost discount a lot of images unless it is on a well known site or published on the pages of a magazine...and even then one must wonder.

Yea, I saw it when I got in tonight. It's still a nice shot, but definitely cheating.

I'm sure a lot of pictures and videos are "staged" with those kind of tricks. It can be very time consuming to sit around and wait for something to happen. Some people don't realize that when you watch an amazing documentary on wildlife, it may have taken 3 years of field work just to get 1 minute of footage. If you are seeking a rare species, you could be filming out in the wild for months before you ever even come across the species you wish to film, let alone collect great footage.

My "step grandma's brother" is a nature photographer and he stages certain things like wild horses. He has a slide show here with over 200 images on. Somewhere in there is a photo of 5 or so wild horses running directly toward him. He dug a hole in the ground to be in and set up red flags everywhere around him and had his friend chase the horses at him. They are stunning images though.
