TM PRO Salt

I use it with great results. I have never had an algae problem that could be associated with the salt. The only other comment is that it seems to have a high Alk reading right after mixing. I usually let it run for 2 days or so with a powerhead, ends up at a 3.1 meq/L Alk or so and plenty of calcium. Take care,

I have been using it and have no complaints about it. Next time I think I will just get the standard TM salt as I have heard things about the Pro being geared towards people that have Calcium reactors and I don't, not sure if that is valid or not. Also, after a 10 gallon water change with the TM Pro on my 75.....thre ORP drops WAY low for 4-5 days before it recovers......strange. HTH
the tmpro is geared for people with reactors-high magnesium(1290)-mid level cacium(350)-and low alk(7.8)-all tests sone with salifert at 1.026 sg.and yes my orp drops down to around 280 or 290 for two days after a waterchange.i really like the lower alk.because i was always running close to 12dkh just to keep up with cacium.

It was okay but it had a major impact on Orp and would take a week or so to come back up to normal . The interference made it hard for me adjust my o3 unit. It was alwasy right about waterchange time when my orp was back to normal range then it would drop hard after a WC.
All other salts I have used have had minimal effect and usually within 24hr was back in the noraml range.

i thought it would have a higher calcium level also-this is my first bucket of it-actually this is the first salt besides IO that i've ever used since i got in this hobby-i was just tired of battling high alk and shutting off my co2 for a day once every week.a friend told me about the lower alk on this salt and i thought that sounded great although the beating it puts on my orp is a little disconcerting.

Getwood65 + Clkwrk: I'm perplexed by TM's orp swings. Usually it does go down somewhat ( for me about 15mvs) after a water change but goes back up in no time.
I've been using IO with very, very good results save the Alk which, as Getwood65 pointed out, does run high. Ca is also pretty low. I have to keep up with a Ca + K reactors.

I made the switch a few months ago, and so far I am happy with it. At first I noticed an increase in the amount of glass cleaning that I had to do. I have slowly began the process of removing most the the sand from the tank as it serves as nothing more than a nutrient sink (SSB) and probably had nothing to do with the salt itself. This stuff works for me as it measures pretty much the same as the parameters that I keep the tank. Ca is just over 400, dKH is 8-9.

I just switched back to IO from TMPro. No difference IMO.
