To much flow affecting fish...

So backstory is that I have a 40 gallon breeder set up for sps. I threw in a two Korallia 550lph and a 1010lph. The result is a general circle of water motion around my center rocks in the tank. The coral loves it but my fish seem to take refuge in the center rock area.

What do you guys do when you run heavy flow and still want fish such as banji cardinals and slower swimmers like a mystery wrasse?

You could put one of the power heads on a timer. You can also have all your heads placed higher up and aimed slightly at the surface so the amount of flow lowers as you go down in the tank. Although that will reduce your ability to pick up detritus.

Look into the rea sea wavemaster pro. I had the same thing happening in my tank. The wavemaster alternates your power heads and gives a lot more random flow. Well worth it in my opinion

how new are the fish? I have pretty high flow in my tank and I find that the fish enjoy swimming directly at my powerheads (tunze 6105s). I don't think high flow bothers fish, but when they are newer they almost always hide.

An ocean wave is very powerful and I have seen a pretty crazy looking surge at a local public aquarium - I think fish get used to it after a little bit.
