To Refract, or not to Refract? That... is the Question

Fish are Friends not Food
:reading:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a SEA of troubles,
And by opposing, end them.

To die, to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to â€" 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd.

To die, to sleep;
To sleep, perchance to dream.
Ay, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause.

Ah.... But, I digress….. Yet therein lies the Question!!

‘Tis it better to go Ye Ole Fashioned route? Or pray tell, has technology caught up and thus replaced that, which is known?

.......Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pitch and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of "action".

I thank Thee!

(Every day I get a little saltier.......... I just can't measure it accurately anymore! Blast it!)

Marty,
Check out the review of the salinity monitors on Marine Depot, they seem to be hit or miss. One thing for sure; the refractometer is not only easy to use, but also easy to calibrate. Besides, there is nothing electrical so you will never have to send a refractometer back to the manufacturer.

Just my 2 cents.

premium aquatics has the salinity monitor for 114.00 and they have a refractometer for 49 but its a sybon a very good refractormeter

Damn thee Claudius!!!!

Thou hast brought ruin to said Plot, and my eye's now grow weary.....

So am I Rosencrantz or Guildenstern?

I've seen refractometers in the LFS's also. You might check there and not pay shipping. I have a hydrometer and a refractometer. I use the hydrometer for weekly water changes and use the refractometer about once a month to verify that everything is ok.
