to those who want a RBTA

thought i would share pics for all the people who thought about getting a RBTA hope your tank is big enough....the following pics are 4 months of growth. Kept under 2x 250w 15k mh's..... feeding half a silverside every 3-4 days

So what you're saying is my 20L i was thinking of putting one into will become a RBTA only tank? Somehow I think I'm totally OK with that

well a 20l is no where big enough for a RBTA if you ask me....but if you do do that, ha! my tanks a 5foot 75gal tank and the nem is taking over ahhhh!!!

There's a local strain of RBTA that seems to stay small and just divide instead, so that will probably be a good option for me if I go that route with that tank

I recently purchased an RBTA from someone getting out of the hobby and she had it in a 30 gallon for 1.5 yrs. (so she said) and fed it a half a shrimp a week, but then her lighting was 2-65W PC's. It isn't huge, but it is quite dark in color, but is already lightening up under a 250W 20000K bulb in it's quarantine. Before you think it's bleaching, it's been in the tank for three weeks and it started at 1 hr and is up to 4 hrs. now.

^^ thanks...although i kinda wish he would split he's getting really big my best guess is atleast 15" across now....also be nice if he split because could sell the clones maybe make a lil money since im poor

That is a nice RBTA, i have heard that feeding more can cause a split so it might be worth a try!

dude, that is a tight anemone. It's huge! You could always try to force it to split by cutting it....

ugh im not a fan of cutting any animal unless its a big slab of steak on my dinner plate....

on a more subject oriented note, cutting i dont think is a good idea because i've read about a few people who crashed their tank because when the nems are cut they release some toxin that could kill off your tank pretty fast.

I've had my RBTA for 8 months or so. It grows slowly and splits frequently.

I have 3 total now, and none are bigger than the mother the day I bought it.

Also, the first one has stayed in the same place, and the clones wonder all over the tank.

I feed mine krill every other day and they split often.

what kind of krill--frozen, freeze dried ??
